Somewhat of a letdown, the scripted sequences feel more like the design team was struggling for ideas. Why start the game with a mission against the impenetrable Borg, making one of the fiercest Federation enemies into hapless idiots? Usually, the Borg would deploy their gigantic Cubes and crush the Federation like ants. Instead, because it's the first mission, you can easily wipe them out in about 15 minutes. Other missions keep you on your toes in ambushes and escort missions, but there's rarely the adrenalin rush of a more fast-paced space combat RTS.
The game takes place on and around stardate 53550 (as well as a brief interlude into 2364), just after the end of the Dominion War. Relations between the allies have deteriorated slightly, with the Romulans and the Klingons once again in dispute.
It's difficult to describe how this feels for us as a team. What started as a personal project for a frenzied Dutch booty-pirate in 2012 has grown into what we would call a small phenomenon, with hundreds of thousands of unique downloads and players from all around the world of every race, creed, gender and orientation. It's been a long, often tedious, sometimes stressful but mostly fun road, and it's one that as a team we are so proud to have traveled.
I have been having an issue as of late. It only appears to be this mod (I use several, never at the same time ofc). The issue being that when I try to run any map, be it small, medium, or large, the game crashes outright within 15-20 minutes of gameplay. My friend and I have the same issue. Its not like the usual RAM issue of the game (that usually crashes with an error window of some kind), but a CTD with no error and no warning. I have tried deleting the mod from my system, redownloading the mod, and trying from scratch with a new game, same issue. Any help would be appreciated.
Besides bug fixing the patch has two new features for Armada 1. The first is widescreen (all resolutions) support. This is a very basic implementation. While you can now use Armada 1 in your native monitor resolution, the GUI is still going to be stretched. This could be fixed by modders by creating new interface files. Another problem is that some resolutions seem to just not work. The game crashes as soon as you try to start the game. I am not sure why this occurs. It seems that Armada is unable to create a 'device' for some resolutions. The cause may be that DirectX 7 implementation used by Armada is not exactly state of the art anymore.

5. When I am playing the game the screen turns white. A white screen in the middle of game play is usually caused when a video card does not have DirectX 8.0 compliant drivers or on a system that does not meet the minimum system requirements. Please check to make sure your computer has a supported video chipset as listed in the minimum system requirements. Try changing the Asynchronous Cursor setting. If it is on, set it to off; if off, turn it on. This can be found in the Graphics Options of the game. Set your desktop settings to 640 by 480 and High Color (16 bit). Change your monitor refresh rate to Adapter default. 1) Right-click on the desktop and select Properties. 2) Click the Settings tab and click the Advanced button. 3) Select the Adapter tab and change the Refresh rate to Adapter default. 4) Click the Apply button and then OK until you are back to the desktop. 5) If you are asked to restart the computer then do so. Make sure the 3D hardware acceleration is turned all the way up: For Windows 98: 1) Right-click on the My Computer icon on the desktop and select Properties. 2) Select the Performance tab and click the Graphics button. 3) Make sure the acceleration slider is set to Full.
6. When I run the game I get the following Error message: No compatible Direct 3D Hardware accelerator detected. This error message will appear on systems that are not running the correct version of DirectX, have out dated drivers or the hardware acceleration level for the video card has been set too low. Make sure your system meets the minimum system requirements of the game. Install DirectX 8.0 from the game CD. 1) If the game CD is in the CD-ROM drive open My Computer on the desktop and right-mouse click on the CD-ROM drive. 2) Select the option to "Install DirectX". 3) Follow the instructions and allow the program to re-start your system if necessary. Make sure you have the latest video and sound card drivers from the manufacturers' websites. Make sure the 3D hardware acceleration is turned all the way up: For Windows 98: 1) Right-click on the My Computer icon on the desktop and select Properties. 2) Select the Performance tab and click the Graphics button. 3) Make sure the acceleration slider is set to Full.
One of the best selling Star Trek games of all time. At the heart of Star Trek Armada II are the most exciting elements from the Star Trek episodes and movies: leading fleets of starships into combat, exploring new planetary systems throughout the Alpha and Delta Quadrants, and carefully treading the delicate balance between peace and war among six different races.
Gameloft, creator of great Android games you feel like you've seen before, is at it again with N.O.V.A. 3, the third (obviously) in the sci-fi FPS shooter series that follows Master Chief Kal Wardin as he fights off the Covenant Volterite armada. The game's description touts an epic storyline and, frankly, we'd expect nothing less from Bungee Gameloft. 2b1af7f3a8
