He is regarded as one of the most clutch hitters ever in the big leagues, with 11 career walk off home runs and 3 world series rings.

Hint 2: Set his franchises single season home run record in 2006 with 54 bombs.

Hint 3: Played for the Minnesota Twins for 6 seasons before being traded in 2002.

On January 3rd, 1920 Boston Red Sox owner Harry Frazee announced an agreement to sell slugger Babe Ruth to the New York Yankees for $125,000 and a $350,000 loan. The sale marked the beginning of the "Curse of the Bambino" on the Red Sox organization. The curse stood for 86 years until the Red Sox came back from a 3-0 game deficit to defeat the Yankees in the ALCS and go on to win the World Series against the St. Louis Cardinals in 2004.
