NCAAF Best Bets: Bowl Edition

Another week, another 4-2 record. For the last week of the college football season, can we finally get a 5th win??

The Florida money line was going to be my lock of the week before their top 2 receivers opted out of the postseason a few days ago. I still love Florida in this game, Trask still does have some weapons to throw at a depleted Oklahoma defense that has important opt outs in the secondary. If we take away Florida's freak loss at LSU a few weeks ago, we are watching them in the playoffs this week. The Gators still have a great chance to win this game but of course ill take the points. Florida +8

Northwestern may have one of the worst offenses in the league, but they only allow 15 points per game on the defensive side of the football. The Wildcat defense is also great a forcing turnovers, and Auburn quarterback Bo Nix is susceptible to turning the ball over. I think Bo throws a couple interceptions and has a rough day. Northwestern -3

I love Cincinnati on Friday against the Georgia Bulldogs. Behind my lock of the week, this is the game I am most confident in. The Cincinnati defensive line is one of the best at getting pressure in the entire country and Georgia's offensive line has struggled, allowing 7 sacks in the last two games. Pressure could force the young quarterback for the Bulldogs into a bunch of mistakes. On the offensive side, I think Cincinnati has an even better matchup against a weak Georgia secondary. Bearcat quarterback, Desmond Ritter can throw the ball downfield, and also can use the deep routes to set up huge QB draws. To me, Cincinnati wins this game to show they should have been a playoff team . Cincinnati +7

I know, nobody is going to be tuning in to the New Year's Eve Ball State- San Jose State game. But, there is a lot of value in this one. I'm not one too bet a lot of unders, but this game is screaming BORING and absolutely no fun. The Cardinals entire offense is running the football. The problem is, the teams leading rusher, and player who has accounted for a third of the teams total yards, has opted out of the game. San Jose's defense is also stingy against the run, ranked inside the top 20 in the country. San Jose State is also 1-5 to the over on the year and I think this game is no different. Look for this game to end around 17-13 SJSU. Fun Right? Under 64.5

The Mississippi State offense is one of the worst SEC offenses I've ever seen. They are terrible. Tulsa -1.5

Lock of the Week

The reason Clemson will win their semi-final game against Ohio State will be because of one reason, the pass rush. Ohio State has shown one glaring vulnerability in their shortened schedule this season and its the offensive line. Star quarterback Justin Fields has been sacked 18 times this season, and struggled last week against another good pass rush in Northwestern. Fields was sacked 3 times and the constant pressure resulted in two interceptions. If the Buckeyes thought that Northwestern's pass rush was tough, wait until the see Clemson on Friday. The Tigers rank 5th in the country with 44 sacks on the season, and more importantly, have forced 13 interceptions and a whopping 12 fumbles. I like Justin Fields and I think he's a lot closer too NFL ready than most give him credit for, but he would need to play more than perfect to lead his team to a victory. I just don't see a way Ohio State("The Ohio State") keeps this game close. Clemson gets up early and cruises to an easy victory. Clemson -7
